Harness

Harness

In the mid October evening, I find myself fighting through a fog

It’s just the turning of the seasons, I tell myself but I don’t believe it, anymore

It’s the third year that I’ve felt this

It comes and goes as the willow’s freeze

I don’t handle it well and I know it

but it’s the hardest when you know it’s coming soon

So I’ll do what I can to make the time we have feel a little bit longer

You’ll reach out your arms and push the warmth between us through our skin

I’m not better on my own, I’m not better off alone

But you are careful in your silence, you let me speak and hold me close

You’re my harness and you know it, but I love the way you show it, and hold me still

So I’ll do what I can to make the time we have feel a little bit longer

You’ll reach out your arms and push the warmth between us through our skin

I’m not better on my own, I’m not better off alone

I’ll stay awake, don’t be gone for too long

Don’t stay awake, I won’t be gone for too long

You’re my harness and you know it, but I love the way you show it, and hold me still

I’ll stay awake, don’t be gone for too long

Don’t stay awake, I won’t be gone for too long

You’re my harness and you know it, but I love the way you show it, and hold me still

You’re my harness and you know it, but I love the way you show it, hold me still
